The role of consolidation in myeloma

To date, consolidation therapy is not standard of care for patients with MM, and a consolidation regimen is yet to be approved. However, consolidation has been introduced for the treatment of transplant-eligible patients with MM.

This interview primarily focuses on the role of consolidation in the treatment of transplant-eligible patients with newly diagnosed MM. The different types of consolidation treatments, as well as current developments and efforts to incorporate them into patient standard of care, are discussed. Pieter Sonneveld concludes by emphasizing the need for further clinical trial results and long-term follow-ups.
